The Slattery family have been at the heart of the drinks industry in Ireland for over 60 years. Our roots stretch back to 1959 when Tipperary man, Jack Slattery, bought his first pub on Dublin’s famous Capel Street, aptly naming it Jack Slattery’s and from here business blossomed. The pub became not only a popular drinking spot and early house for the local traders and general public but was also a whiskey and beer bonder. It even bottled it’s own Guinness.
Jack’s son, Michael, started his career in duty free with B & I line where he ran the highly lucrative business as the Duty Free Manager. After 12 years he joined the ADM Londis Group as Wine & Spirits Buyer and later became Chief Buyer for the group before leaving in 1998 to set up Michael Slattery Wines & Spirits. Here he threw caution to the wind, bought a van and headed out into the unknown.
From a small turnover in 1999, the company has grown into a multi-million euro business. The day to day running of the business has now been handed down to his two sons, Karl & Mark, who are tasked with carrying on the family tradition of supplying hotels, pubs, restaurants and the off trade with a full range of top brand wines, beers & spirits at the most competitive prices in the market.
